Surgeons find Heinz sachets in ‘Crohn’s disease’ patient’s gut

Woman who ingested sauce packets thought she had the serious bowel disorder for six years

British surgeons operating on a woman suspected of having severe Crohn’s disease discovered she actually had a tomato sauce sachet lodged in her intestine, it has been revealed.

The 41-year-old woman believed she had Crohn’s disease for six years before doctors performed the investigative keyhole surgery at Wexham Park Hospital, in Slough. The inflammatory bowel disorder mainly attacks the intestine and its exact cause is unknown, according to the BBB News website.
