1. The Greenhouse: Alex Dilling’s new tasting menu
Hunkered down under a tall mansion block and secluded from its London mews by a garden of potted shrubs and trees, for four decades The Greenhouse has been quietly satisfying the exalted residents of Mayfair. They, along with the bucket-listers drawn by the lustre of two Michelin stars, had to look elsewhere over the summer as the doors closed for a kitchen refit and a change at the helm. Now it’s back in business. The new executive chef is Alex Dilling, late of the Connaught, which should calm anxious minds: the venerable hotel retained its two-star status throughout Dilling’s tenure, and his previous haunt, Caviar Russe in New York, gained a star while under his command.Click here to read the full article

3. L is for Jonathan Anderson's Loewe
In September 2013, LVMH entrusted Jonathan Anderson with rejuvenating Loewe, a brand the luxury conglomerate acquired in 1996. Loewe, Spain’s oldest luxury house, was established in 1846 when a group of Madrid-based leather craftsmen joined forces. It takes its name from German entrepreneur Enrique Loewe Roessberg, who took charge of the guild in 1872 and channelled their combined expertise into building a brand which still thrives to this day.Click here to read the full article

Due to land in the UK this side of Christmas, the new release of La Dama is utterly sensational. “I gave it one of the highest-ever scores for a red Spanish wine when I tasted it and its 2014 vintage brother (£34.95, BBR.com) side by side the other day and they both looked sublime,” says MoneyWeek’s wine columnist, Matthew Jukes. “Owner Elisa Úcar poured her wines wearing the widest grin imaginable. She knows just how good they are, but they are so precise and so esoteric that I imagine the general public might find it easier and less challenging to plump for Rioja or Ribera del Duero than the gems found in the Domaines Lupier cellar.”Click here to read the full article
5. Royal Savoy, Lausanne: a spa with history
For more than a century, a fairytale palace on the shore of Lake Geneva has drawn the world’s royal families and their admirers to the old town of Lausanne. The King of Thailand was a regular guest and the exiled Spanish royal family even took up residence. Now, after an £80m refurbishment, the grand old art-nouveau chateau of the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa has a touch of contemporary flare to invigorate its old-school glamour. The first impression is of extraordinary grandeur. One wall of the lobby is given over to a gilt-framed art gallery, while a magnificent violet chandelier and azure velvet seating represent a modern twist on the days when guests arrived aboard the Orient Express.Click here to read the full article
6. Inside Kensington Palace
News that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting their first child has added fuel to speculation that they will upgrade to a bigger residence in Kensington Palace. Since their wedding in May, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living in Nottingham Cottage, in the grounds of the palace. The two-bedroom property had been Harry’s bachelor pad since his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton moved out in 2013, but now he is to become a father, the prince will be looking for more space to accommodate his growing family.Click here to read the full article
7. Eat the Art: Theo Randall and Amber Locke get creative
Theo Randall, chef-in-residence at The InterContinental, has joined forces with the artist Amber Locke for “Eat the Art”, a special tasting menu at the Park Lane hotel. It is, if you’ll forgive the pun, a natural collaboration. Locke’s work involves the painstaking arrangement of fruit, vegetables and flowers into geometric patterns, which she photographs and shares with her 100,000 Instagram followers. Randall’s work with similar ingredients often ends up on social media too, thanks to the diners snapping away at the elegantly constructed dishes.Click here to read the full article
8. Audio’s bright future
“We’re living in a golden age of content,” says Sonos chief executive Patrick Spence. “TV epics. Podcasts on every topic. Artfully recorded audiobooks that take you to new worlds. And endless catalogues of music for every taste. Simultaneously, we've seen the rise of voice assistants that can deliver all of the riches of this golden age to you on-demand. While before accessing content was a matter to typing, swiping, and clicking - today it's simply a matter of asking and listening. The interactive nature of this experience makes it possible for the smart speaker to become the central technology of the home, but more important from our point of view, the technology at the heart of our at-home cultural experience.”Click here to read the full article

10. Stealth luxury: falling for the Volkswagen Arteon (sponsored)
It’s not often that an executive saloon grabs your attention within an instant of setting eyes upon it. True, many of them boast sharp designs and neat interiors, but they rarely offer a level of premium that can really wow drivers. But the Volkswagen Arteon bucks the trend. It’s an all-new model that merges the practicality and space of a five-door saloon with all the stealthy elegance of a luxury fastback.Click here to read the full article
