A Tennessee high school canceled a field trip to a mosque and a Hindu temple after a parent complained that the world religions class was promoting “Islamic tolerance.” Parent Mike Conner said that since Hendersonville High School hadn’t visited Christian churches, it was clear they were “pushing” Islam. “We didn’t want to make this about religion—they forced us to,” Conner said.

A California college stopped a student from handing out copies of the U.S. Constitution on campus on Constitution Day. Modesto Junior College officials told Robert Van Tuinen that he needed to reserve a tiny “free speech zone” days in advance. Van Tuinen said he can’t believe he needs a permit for “something as basic as handing out the Constitution.”
