1. Don't hold your breath for a Mad Men spin-off
With spin-offs for both Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead on the horizon, many have speculated that it's only a matter of time before Mad Men gets spun into Ken Cosgrove: Sci-Fi Genius or Paul Kinsey: Hare Krishna. Unfortunately, those stories will remain fan fiction forever: In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Matt Weiner said he would never consider a Mad Men spin-off. "No judgment against anybody else — but this is it. This is the story. When it's done, it's done." So all you wannabe Don Drapers can put your pitches back in your period-appropriate briefcases. 3. J.J. Abrams wants Star Wars: Episode VII to "feel real"
In a move that reverses the Star Wars prequel trilogy's dogged commitment to terrible, unconvincing CGI, Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams has announced that he wants the upcoming sequel to "feel real." "I remember I felt that way when I was 11 years old when I saw the first one. As much of a fairy tale as it was, it felt real. And to me, that is exactly right." So fans can presumably look forward to another six hours of trade negotiations. [Entertainment Weekly]

4. Hugh Jackman never takes his shirt off in Prisoners
If you're looking to swoon over Hugh Jackman, you should probably stick to the X-Men franchise. In an interview with E! Online, director Denis Villeneuve — who helmed Jackman's new film Prisoners — admitted that the star never takes his shirt off. "I knew if the guy was removing his shirt, I would have a superhero and no more an every day American father. So I tried to hide it," said Villeneuve. No word on whether or not Jackman's claws make an appearance. [E! Online]

5. There's more Honey Boo Boo on the way
Great job, America! You've made TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo enough of a ratings smash that the network has ordered 12 more episodes and three more specials for the popular reality series. "The world continues to be fascinated by the Boo Boo gang and their crazy hijinks," said a spokesman for TLC. "Viewers can look forward to seeing a different side of the family as they embark on this exciting new chapter of their lives" — like, say, the side where they're successful and world-famous millionaires.
