Daniel Day-Lewis’s half-brother has revealed that the Oscar-winning actor hasn’t spoken to him in nearly 20 years. Sean Day-Lewis, an 81-year-old retired British journalist, is 26 years older than his famous brother, who was born after their father, celebrated poet Cecil Day-Lewis, left his first wife to marry a much younger woman. The two half-brothers enjoyed cordial relations until 1994, when Sean very briefly talked to an author who was writing a biography about Daniel. The famously private actor was furious at the perceived betrayal. “He phoned me up and told me to f---ing get a life,” Sean told The Daily Telegraph (U.K.). “‘F--- off,’ he said. I couldn’t get a word in.” The two haven’t spoken since, though Sean holds out for a reunion. “I would like that very much,” he said.
