Texas teen holds up a police station
A Texas teenager has been arrested after allegedly attempting to hold up a police station. Police say Keithan Manuel, 18, walked into the station in Wilmer, Texas, threatened a female officer with what appeared to be a gun under a towel, and demanded, “Give me all your money.” Cops quickly surrounded him with drawn weapons. Manuel now claims that the incident was a practical joke—“man, I play like that all the time”—but unamused cops charged him with attempted robbery nonetheless. “This young man wasn’t using his head,” said police Chief Victor Kemp.

Meow, the world’s fattest cat, has died. The 2-year-old feline became a global celebrity last month after his elderly owner left him at a New Mexico animal shelter weighing a whopping 39 pounds. Meow was put on a diet, but it was too late: He died last week of pulmonary failure. “It is so very hard to believe that he is gone,” said the shelter in a statement. “We will forever be grateful for the attention Meow’s size brought to pet obesity.”
Love thy wife's cooking!
A Russian man spent a month starving in a forest after fighting with his wife about a bowl of soup. Yuri Ticuic, 69, stormed out of his home in a remote region after his wife served him soup he felt was too cold. Ticuic became lost, and survived for a month on berries and leaves until he was discovered, suffering from malnutrition and frostbite. “No matter what happens,” said Ticuic, “that’s the last time I criticize my wife’s cooking.”
