Lady Gaga’s bad romances
Jealousy and the pressures of fame interfere with Lady Gaga's relationships.
Lady Gaga doubts she’ll ever find real love, said Lisa Robinson in Vanity Fair. “I have never felt truly cherished by a lover,” says the pop star. “I have an inability to know what happiness feels like with a man.” The pressures of fame, she says, have caused some of her relationships to flatline. “When I fight with someone I’m in a relationship with, I think, ‘What would my fans think if they knew this was happening?’” she says. “‘How would they feel about my work and me as a female if they knew I was allowing this to go on?’ And then I get out.”
She says other relationships soured when lovers grew jealous of her talent. “When I’m in these relationships with [creative] people, the attraction is there initially and it’s all unicorns and rainbows. Then they hate me. If I go to the piano and write a quick song, they are angry with how fast and effortless it is.” After these relationships ended, several of the envious ex-boyfriends have asked Gaga to marry them. She thinks they’re pathetic. “How romantic, you a--hole. Sure, pop a ring on my finger and make it all better. I can buy myself a f---ing ring.”
