Gossip: Gabrielle Giffords
Giffords gave her first public interview this week since being shot in the head by gunman Jared Loughner in January.
Gabrielle Giffords has broken her silence, said Newsday. Appearing with her husband, ex-astronaut Mark Kelly, on ABC’s 20/20, the Arizona congresswoman gave her first public interview this week since being shot in the head by gunman Jared Loughner in January. Giffords spoke haltingly, saying she remembered nothing of the tragic shooting that killed six, but learned of it when she read a newspaper article two months after. “I cried,” said Giffords. “A lot of people died…tough, tough, tough.” Asked how she felt, Giffords replied, “Pretty good” and “strong, strong.” She indicated that she planned to return to Congress, but not until she was “better.”
