Charity of the week: Vital Voices Global Partnership
Vital Voices has mentored and trained more than 10,000 women from more than 120 countries over the past 14 years.
Vital Voices Global Partnership (vitalvoices.org) finds promising female leaders around the world—from entrepreneurs and educators to human-rights activists and politicians—and gives them training, mentoring, and professional connections to help them succeed. The world’s largest leadership NGO for women, Vital Voices has mentored and trained more than 10,000 women from more than 120 countries over the past 14 years, amplifying their voices and investing in their progress. The women the organization works with have gone on to launch local businesses, start microfinancing networks in their communities, combat human trafficking, run for office, and develop historic women’s-rights legislation, as well as share their expertise and training with other women in their communities.
Each charity we feature has earned a four-star overall rating from Charity Navigator, which ranks not-for-profit organizations on the strength of their finances, their control of administrative and fund-raising expenses, and the transparency of their operations. Four stars is the group’s highest ranking.
