Ecclestone’s sparkling life
Tamara Ecclestone is now house-hunting in Los Angeles for something in the $160 million range.
Tamara Ecclestone wants to make it clear that she’s not a spoiled brat, said Caroline Graham in the London Daily Mail. The 27-year-old daughter of billionaire Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone and Croatian model Slavica insists she was brought up with a healthy respect for money. “Both my parents came from humble beginnings and were determined not to spoil us,” says the perfectly tanned socialite. “I had to work for my pocket money, walking the dog and picking up his poop.”
These days, admittedly, her parents are more liberal with her allowance. Ecclestone is now house-hunting in Los Angeles for something in the $160 million range. And rumor has it that she recently dispatched five minions to the Amazon basin to search for white rock crystal that will be carved into a designer bathtub for her $70 million London home. Surely this is a tabloid fantasy? “No, it’s completely true,” she says, shrugging at the $1.5 million price tag for the tub. “I’ve got to reinforce the floor, and I’ve had to pay for everyone’s travel and the hauling back and polishing of the crystal. But I spend a lot of time in the bath, so it’s worth it.”
