Singer George Michael saved a bundle this week on his wedding present to Prince William and Kate Middleton, said the London Guardian. The singer, 47, recorded a version of the 1972 Stevie Wonder song You and I as a present for the soon-to-be-wed royal couple, only to discover that EMI, the record company that owns the song’s rights, planned to hit him with a massive bill. Michael caught a break when Wonder himself convinced EMI to waive licensing fees. “Those f---ers at EMI wanted to charge me for every download,” Michael wrote on Twitter. “I’d like Kate and Will to know I was prepared to do that.”
