Teen burglars kill the goldfish
A teenager who burgled an apartment in suburban Chicago later told police that he’d killed the homeowner’s goldfish because he didn’t want to leave any witnesses. The unnamed 16-year-old was apparently leaving the scene with his two accomplices when he spotted the three goldfish and announced, “We can’t let them live—they’re witnesses.” The teens then killed the fish by pouring mustard and hot sauce into their tank. The triple fish murder, said police, was “certainly something they didn’t need to do.”

Mariah Carey is sparing no expense in building a nursery for her unborn twins, says Britain’s Now. The singer, 40, is due to give birth to a boy and a girl at the end of March, and has spent millions converting a wing of her Beverly Hills mansion into a “luxury nursery.” The nursery features two walk-in closets, a gold-and-onyx couch worth $1 million, and flat-screen TVs that descend from the ceiling. Each child will also be welcomed into the world with a diamond-encrusted iPod. “Mariah has waited a long time for her baby dreams to come true,” a source says, “and she says the twins will be the most spoiled kids on the planet.”
Head X-ray reveals a stuck knife blade
A Chinese man who complained of headaches has had a 4-inch knife blade removed from his brain. Li Fu, 37, was attacked and stabbed by a knife-wielding robber in 2006, but was apparently unaware that the blade of the knife had snapped off in his brain until a routine X-ray revealed it. Surgeon Luo Zhiwei said Li’s survival was “a medical miracle. The knife was almost intact when we removed it.”
