Hillary and Bill Clinton are said to have spent up to $5 million on the wedding of their daughter, Chelsea, to former Goldman Sachs investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, says the New York Daily News. The nuptials were to take place July 31, on the 50-acre grounds of a private estate in Rhinebeck, N.Y., overlooking the Hudson River, with about 500 of the former First Family’s relatives and friends. The huge price tag is the result of providing massive, air-conditioned tents for the wedding party and guests; top-quality food and wine; flowers and place settings; and intense security, including shutting down airspace, to keep away paparazzi in helicopters. The Clintons can afford it: They earned more than $100 million in recent years on books and speeches.
