Sparkpeople.com, an online dieting community, places a “huge emphasis on adopting a healthy lifestyle for long-term weight maintenance.” The site offers a number of “useful tools,” such as easy-to-follow recipes and fitness videos, while quizzes and success stories help keep morale high.
FitDay.com asks visitors to log in each day and catalogue what they’ve eaten, using the site’s “comprehensive food library.” It then creates pie charts, giving dieters a graphic guide to where their calories are coming from, as well as to their long-term progress.
ActiveLog.com incorporates the “excitement of competition” into weight loss. Members can create weight-loss challenges and invite others to compete “with or against them.” The site’s tracking tools also let you keep tabs on your workout routine, caloric intake, and body measurements.
