Websites where parents will find information and support.
Autismspeaks.org, an awareness and advocacy organization, features a “week-by-week 100-day kit” to help families navigate the days immediately following an autism diagnosis. Its video glossary includes more than 100 videos comparing the behaviors of autistic and normal children.
Ianproject.org, the site of the Interactive Autism Network, hosts the “largest online study in the U.S.,” connecting researchers with families affected by autism. Create a login to keep updated on the more than 400 treatments, as well as to stay posted on new research findings.
Autism-society.org helps those affected by autism find support groups throughout the country. The site has partnered with AMC Entertainment to provide autistic children with special screenings of new movies. Local listings can be found on the site.
