Voting in Nevada? Don't wear a chicken suit
Excessive mocking of GOP senatorial candidate Sue "Chicken for Checkups" Lowden has led authorities to institute an urgent bird-suit ban
Nevada election officials have banned wearing chicken suits at polling places because of their "inappropriate" political message. The problem started in April, when Harry Reid's potential Republican challenger Sue Lowden infamously suggested that people barter for health care with chickens like "our grandparents" who "would bring a chicken to the doctor" as payment. Mocking her remarks, Reid supporters began to wear the avian costumes at Lowden events. The new ban on poultry garb, which both candidates soberly support, is only fair, says Beth Shaw at Right Pundits, since wearing a chicken suit in Nevada equates with "displaying campaign signs near polling places. Maybe so, says Kathleen Hennessey in The Swamp, but I can't help but laugh at the thought of Nevada Dems "sadly packing away their Election Day chicken suits."
