Lady Gaga’s other self
The 23-year-old pop performer may now be the most outrageous entertainer around, but the graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, an all-female Catholic school, has a surprisingly traditional background.
Lady Gaga has a surprisingly traditional background, says Miranda Purves in Elle. The 23-year-old pop performer may now be the most outrageous entertainer around—she’s equally happy wearing a gold unicorn horn on her head, a sparkler cone bustier, or a dress that spurts fake blood. But underneath all the flamboyance, she’s still Stefani Germanotta from Manhattan, a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart, an all-female Catholic school. A self-professed Daddy’s girl (“I’m married to my dad”), she says she is “mesmerized” by her parents’ strong marriage. And though she’s spoken frequently of her bisexuality and is currently single, she wants to settle down and have children. “Of course, yeah. I mean, not tomorrow! I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around, but in eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my dad to hold. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me—just the way anyone else does.”
