A California man is suing the makers of World of Warcraft for $1 million, claiming his addiction to the online video game has left him “sad, lonely, and alienated.” Erik Estavillo of San Jose says that the orc-infested world of the game is a “harmful virtual environment,” and that he’s become dependent on it “for the little ongoing happiness he can achieve in this life.”

A California man has proposed a ballot initiative to ban heterosexual divorce. John Marcotte, 38, a married father of two, says he’s calling the bluff of gay-marriage opponents. “Since California has decided to protect traditional marriage,” says Marcotte, “I think it would be hypocritical of us not to sacrifice some of our own rights to protect traditional marriage even more.”
