The Nightmare Before Christmas: 2-Disc Collector’s Edition
(Disney, $32.99)
You will marvel at this remastered “holiday classic,” said The Washington Post. For its 15-year anniversary, Tim Burton’s “macabre tale” achieves a “visual depth” that falls just short of 3-D. Extras include two short films and a series of storyboard-to-film comparisons that show how the creation took life.

Nixon: Election Year Edition
(Disney, $29.99)
Director Oliver Stone did the “unthinkable” with Nixon, said New York. His 1995 drama painted a “surprisingly sympathetic portrait” of the former president, and Stone swears he’ll be just as “evenhanded” with his upcoming George W. Bush biopic. Extras here include a “Beyond Nixon” documentary directed by Stone’s son.

The director makes the martial arts seem, as boxing once did, a “sweet science.” Commentary includes interviews with key figures from the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
