It's hard to go wrong with Sauvignon Blanc, but here are four good labels you might like to try over the summer.
When it comes to a dependable summer wine, “it’s hard to go wrong” with Sauvignon Blanc, said Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher in The Wall Street Journal. Regardless of country of origin, most are inexpensive and consistently good. Always “buy the youngest vintage you see,” but here are some labels to look for:
Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc ($11.99) One of many dependable American Sauvignon Blancs. We like this one for large parties because it “leans a bit more toward the gulpable New Zealand style.”
Concha y Toro ‘Casillero del Diablo’ Sauvignon Blanc ($6.19) An earthy Chilean wine that’s especially good when you’re buying for a big group. Great with seafood.
