Tip of the week ...
Ways to beat the application process.
For kindergarten. Playing with blocks and puzzles can help increase little ones’ scores on the “performance portion of the Educational Records Bureau test.” On applications, list your profession but never your salary. Instead have a friend write a letter mentioning “how generous you’ve been to his charity.”
For college. Don’t drive kids crazy in an effort to present them as “well-rounded.” Instead, show they’ve done a “lot of work” in one area they’re “passionate about.” Rather than obtain a long list of teacher recommendations, submit an enthusiastic one from a teacher in a “student’s chosen field.”
For a nursing home. Although “top priority in selection is your medical condition,” a patient’s “ability to pay is a major factor.” Buy long-term insurance now. It will cover costs for years and “make you more desirable than even somebody with money in the bank.”
