Child-abuse ring busted

Undercover police this week rescued 31 children from an international pedophile ring that streamed live video of kids being raped. Officers from Britain, the U.S., Canada, and Australia infiltrated the chat room “Kids the Light of Our Lives” and identified 700 viewers and perpetrators. More than 100 have already been arrested, including the ringleader, Timothy Cox, 28, who lived with his parents in Suffolk, England. Cox, who was arrested in September, pleaded guilty and was sentenced this week to an indefinite term. Lead investigator Jim Gamble said members could request specific acts done to specific children. The site routinely showed “a child brought into a room—on Web cam—and brutalized for the pleasure of some deviant individual who might not even be in the same country,” he said. Victims ranged in age from 18 months to early teens.
