Buses busted up
The week's news at a glance.
Newark, Ohio
Some 6,700 Ohio children got an unexpected day off this week after vandals raided the Newark school district’s bus fleet. The vandals discharged fire extinguishers in about 20 buses, dumped trash in them, and stuffed paper in their gas tanks. Officials in the central Ohio district idled the entire fleet so police could search for evidence. Two fifth-grade boys were called in for questioning.
