Birmingham, U.K.
The city of Birmingham is sending social workers to elementary schools in an attempt to curb “inappropriate sexual behavior.” Traditional schoolyard games such as “kiss and chase,” once fairly innocent, have become more blatantly sexual, with young kids dressing more and more provocatively. “Sometimes you have a whole school where all the kids are very flirty,” said social worker Stephane Breton. “They are 7 and 8 and they are flirtatious.” The Birmingham City Council created a task force in response to requests from alarmed teachers.
