Mayor insults U.S. diplomat

London
London’s outspoken mayor, "Red Ken" Livingstone, may face disciplinary action for insulting U.S. Ambassador Robert Tuttle. Livingstone has been complaining for months about the U.S. Embassy’s refusal to pay a London "congestion tax" on cars. This week, Livingstone told an interviewer that Tuttle should pay the tax and not "try and skive out of it, like some chiseling little crook." The U.S. Embassy says foreign delegations are exempt from local taxes. Livingstone was previously reported to an obscure conduct and standards board for comparing a Jewish reporter to a Nazi concentration camp guard. For that offense, he was given a one-month suspension from his post, which he is appealing.
