Seven carnival workers fell out of a roller coaster this week as they tested the ride before the opening of the popular Miami-Dade County Fair. A car jumped the tracks and tipped over, tossing the workers onto the ground. Investigators could not immediately say what caused the mishap. “These weren’t patrons, so we know they weren’t standing up or goofing off,” said a spokeswoman for the state Department of Agriculture. Four of the victims were rushed to hospitals; the other three were treated by paramedics at the fairground. Seven customers were injured at the same fair in 2004 when another ride, “The Gravitron,” broke apart while it was spinning.
