Cool mom off to prison
The week's news at a glance.
Golden, Colo.
A Colorado woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison this week for throwing sex parties for high school boys. Silvia Johnson, 41, pleaded guilty in July to a string of charges. Johnson had parties almost every week between October 2003 and October 2004. Prosecutors said she gave eight teenage boys alcohol and drugs, and had sex with five of them. Johnson told investigators she wanted to be a “cool mom.” She said she was “never popular” when she was in school, but the parties were a hit and made her feel like part of a group.
