Beijing
Female college grads in China have begun including sexy photographs with their résumés to try to get jobs, the Beijing China Daily reported this week. Sex discrimination in China is so overt that employment ads often specify “only for men” or “male preferred.” Ads targeting women applicants tend to include height and weight requirements, regardless of whether physical attributes are relevant. Desperate for employment, some applicants offer photos of themselves in miniskirts, or include information about their dancing talents. A few women trying for public-relations jobs have even boasted that they can handle their liquor.
