Pyongyang
Working in secret with 11 other countries, the U.S. arranged the defection of several top North Korean nuclear scientists over the past six months, The Australian reported this week. Kyong Won Ha, the “father” of the country’s nuclear program, and others escaped to China, which provided them passage to Western countries. They are now unburdening themselves to Western officials. The Australian also reported that the Pentagon had a detailed plan to bomb North Korea’s nuclear plant at Yongbyon, and was ready to implement it if Kim made good on his recent threat to start reprocessing plutonium for use in nuclear warheads.
