The daily gossip: Avril Lavigne gets engaged, Donald Glover conducts an interview with himself, and more
Today's top entertainment and celebrity news
1. Avril Lavigne is engaged
He was a groom. She was a bride. Can we make it any more obvious? Avril Lavigne is engaged to singer Mod Sun, she confirmed Thursday on Instagram, sharing cute photos of him down on one knee in front of the Eiffel Tower. "The day we met I knew you were the one," Mod Sun wrote. "Together forever til our days are done." Lavigne told People it was the "most perfect, romantic proposal I could ever ask for," revealing he popped the question while they were on a boat in the Seine River. "We had a violin player, champagne and roses," she said. "It felt like time stood still, and it was just the two of us in the moment." The engagement ring has the words "Hi Icon" engraved on it, as those are apparently the first words Mod Sun ever said to Lavigne. The two started dating last year after meeting while working on her new album, Love Sux. On second thought, maybe love doesn't sux that much!
2. Donald Glover interviews himself: 'Are you afraid of Black women?'
Donald Glover's next guest needs no introduction: it's … Donald Glover. For Interview magazine, Glover had an in-depth discussion with himself, which he described as an attempt to "get questions I usually don't get asked." Among the questions Glover posed himself were, "Are you afraid of Black women?" The Atlanta creator asked himself this because "I feel like your relationship to them has played a big part in your narrative," but he then told himself, "I feel like you're using Black women to question my Blackness." He also asked himself if he's "worried about getting canceled," responding that "you can get torn apart for anything, true or not." The Glover-on-Glover interview — which he already did once before in 2011 — received mixed reactions, with critic Angelica Jade calling it a "great example of how the skills of profilers/critics/interviewers are so undervalued." Was Childish Gambino not available to conduct the interview?

3. Vanessa Hudgens says she can talk to ghosts
We're all in this together, and that includes Vanessa Hudgens' ghost pals. On The Kelly Clarkson Show, the High School Musical star claimed she has the ability to communicate with the dead. "I see things and I hear things," she said. Hudgens told Clarkson she's had "a lot of" paranormal experiences going back to her childhood, recalling seeing one of her toys moving on its own when she was eight. "I kind of shut it down for a while because it's scary, the unknown is scary," she said. "But I recently was like, no, this is a gift and something that I have the ability to do, so I'm going to lean into it." That led her to recently conduct her first "real paranormal investigation" with "equipment and everything" and speak with a "playful" spirit named Sam at a graveyard. Could this mean it's time for Haunted High School Musical?
4. Khloé Kardashian regrets not getting a nose job 'sooner'
My only regret is that I have but one nose to job! Khloé Kardashian spoke with ABC's Robin Roberts about getting a nose job back in 2019, a decision she feels pretty good about. "My whole life I would say, I've always wanted my nose done, forever," she said. "But it's in the middle of your face and it's scary to think about. But I finally got the courage, and I did it, and I love it." Indeed, in contrast to Bella Hadid admitting she regrets getting a nose job when she was 14, Kardashian told fans on Twitter, "My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner." She also responded to someone who said they had the "worst recovery ever" when they got one, something she couldn't really relate to. "Stop!!!" Kardashian wrote. "Mine was a breeze. That's crazy. It honestly was so easy for me."

5. Britney Spears has 'never opened a computer'
Every day there's another reason to be jealous of Britney Spears. First, Spears revealed she lives in a blissful world with no clue who Pete Davidson and Scott Disick are. Now, she claims she has never "opened a computer" in her life. On Instagram, after saying the "expectations to be perfect" on social media are "pretty crazy," she writes, "We all seem to alienate behind our phones and computers … I've never opened a computer my whole life … just a phone." Spears' disinterest in computers goes back years, as she said in 2016 they're just "not my thing" — though she ends her post by ominously musing, "I will probably buy a computer today." No, Britney, don't do it! Her revelation comes after Selena Gomez recently said she hasn't gone online in over four years, so we're expecting some celebrity to try to top them both by announcing they've never even heard of the internet.
