Forty-eight per cent of voters want Chancellor George Osborne replaced in David Cameron's upcoming Cabinet reshuffle, according to a Guardian/ICM poll. Of Conservative voters, 44% believe he is doing a bad job compared to 43% satisfied with his performance. He is even more unpopular than deputy PM Nick Clegg.

2. LONDON PARADE FOR TEAM GB
London is to stage a celebratory parade on Monday afternoon, 10 September, for 800 Team GB athletes from the London Olympics and Paralympics, which start tomorrow. 'Our Greatest Team Parade' will see them travel on 21 floats from Mansion House through Trafalgar Square to The Mall. Families will have reserved seats.

4. STUDY: CANNABIS USE IN TEENS LOWERS IQ
Teenagers who smoke cannabis run the risk of an irreversible reduction in their IQ, according to a study of 1,000 New Zealanders reported in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The subjects, tested from childhood to age 38, suffered the most IQ loss if they began smoking before 18 while their brains were developing.

5. COLOMBIA IN PEACE TALKS WITH FARC
President Juan Manuel Santos has confirmed the Colombian government is holding "exploratory" peace talks with the notorious FARC rebels. Observers believe it might be the best chance for peace since FARC guerillas began fighting the government in 1964. The first round of talks will take place in Oslo on 5 October.

6. APPLE SEEKS BAN ON SAMSUNG PHONES
Apple has asked the US District Court in San Jose, California for a preliminary injunction to ban sales of eight Samsung mobile phone models in the US, following its legal victory in the battle over patents. Apple wants seek a permanent ban on the Galaxy smart phone models. Apple shares rose 1.88% to $675.68 on Wall Street.

7. PM 'MAN OR MOUSE' ON HEATHROW?
Former environment minister Tim Yeo challenges David Cameron in The Daily Telegraph today to push through the development of a third Heathrow runway today, saying the PM must decide if he is "man or mouse". A go-ahead would begin a new era for Britain and would be "the moment the Cameron government found its sense of mission".

8. ARCTIC ICE MELTS TO RECORD LOW
The Arctic has lost more sea ice this year than at any time since satellite records began in 1979, America's space agency Nasa reported yesterday, indicating a fundamental change. Measurements from its satellites reveal the extent of sea ice was 4.10m sq km compared with a previous low of 4.17m sq km on 18 September, 2007.
9. JAVELIN KILLS MAN AT ATHLETICS MEET
An official at an athletics event in the German city of Dusseldorf died after being speared in the throat by a javelin, it was reported yesterday. Dieter Strack, 74, was going to measure a throw when he was hit, and he died later in hospital. The meeting was called-off and the 15 year old who threw the javelin is being treated for shock.

10. HOT TICKET: THE BOLD IMPOSTER
The Imposter, a documentary that unfolds like a Hollywood thriller, tells the story of a French-Algerian man who impersonates a Texas schoolboy, Nicholas Barclay, who has gone missing from his home three years previously.
