1. NHS CHIEF TELLS STAFF TO JOIN GYMS
The chief executive of the NHS is urging staff to take a lead in the anti-obesity fight by joining gyms. Simon Stevens says the NHS should become an agent for social change and lead by example as it is revealed that one in five young people and one in four adults in the UK now suffer from obesity, which each year causes 34,000 deaths and costs the NHS more than £1bn.
2. CAMERON IN ELECTION WARNING
Britain’s prosperity is at stake in the most important general election “for a generation” writes David Cameron in the Sunday Telegraph. The prime minister claims that mortgages will rise and businesses and markets will be rattled if Ed Miliband wins power next May. He also warns that a vote for Ukip could put Labour back in power.
3. WEB TROLLS TO FACE TWO-YEAR TERMS
Web trolls will face up to two years in jail under government plans announced by the justice secretary. Chris Grayling has vowed to crack down on those who target people with abusive material online, saying they cause "absolute misery for victims". Cases of internet abuse currently carry a maximum sentence of six months.

4. NEW TORY 'DISABLED WORKER' STORM
A second Tory minister has risked a storm over disabled workers with his comment that they “work harder because they’re grateful to have a job”. The Independent On Sunday reveals that justice minister Andrew Selous made the remark at the party conference. The news comes days after Lord Freud was criticised for saying disabled people are “not worth” the minimum wage.

5. MET WARNING AS GONZALO NEARS
The tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo could cause chaos when it arrives in the UK early next week, warns the Met Office. The storm, which is expected to arrive on Monday night, could bring gale force winds of up to 60mph and heavy rain. Northern Ireland, northern England, north Wales, southern and eastern Scotland are expected to be particularly affected.

6. HIMALAYAN DEATH TOLL REACHES 39
The death toll from the Himalayan disaster has risen to at least 39. Up to nine British people were missing in the popular trekking area last night after a snowstorm caused colossal avalanches and snowdrifts. There are fears that the final death toll could rise, with more bodies thought to be lying under heavy snowdrifts and ice.
7. CATHOLIC BISHOPS SCRAP GAY CLAUSE
Catholic bishops have abandoned plans to welcome gay members of the Church. During a landmark summit on family issues, a draft document was suggested stating that unmarried couples living together can be 'positive', and gay relationships must be welcomed. It was replaced by a paragraph describing homosexuality as a 'problem' Catholic families have to confront.
8. FEARS OVER PATRIOTIC RUGBY VIDEO
The England rugby team is suppressing a patriotic film over fears of “political ramifications” from Scottish nationalists. The emotionally-charged video reportedly reduced some players to tears when they were shown it at a private meeting. However, the Sunday Telegraph says head coach Stuart Lancaster, is concerned that it could prompt claims of "arrogance" if it is released.
9. CHED EVANS: ‘IT WAS CONSENSUAL’
Footballer Ched Evans says it was “unforgivable” to cheat on his girlfriend but insists he is not guilty of rape. The 25-year-old tells the Sunday Mirror: “It was something that should never have happened. I cheated on my girlfriend and had sex with this girl – but it was definitely consensual.” Evans was released from jail on Friday after serving half of a five-year sentence for raping a woman.

10. SAINTS SLAM SORRY SUNDERLAND
Southampton’s 8-0 mauling of Sunderland was the standout result of yesterday’s Premier League action. Elsewhere, Cesc Fabregas scored his first league goal for Chelsea as their 2-1 victory at Crystal Palace maintained a five-point advantage over Manchester City. Arsenal were held 2-2 by Hull City. The Gunners have won just one of their last seven matches.
