1. PM: JAIL THOSE WHO IGNORE CHILD ABUSE
David Cameron will today set out plans to jail professionals who turn a blind eye to evidence of child abuse for up to five years. The crime of “wilful neglect” will be extended to cover children’s social care and education. There will be unlimited fines for individuals and organisations who have let children down.

2. NEMTSOV FUNERAL AS GIRLFRIEND FLIES OUT
The funeral of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov takes place today in Moscow, with crowds gathering to pay their respects. Meanwhile, Anna Duritskaya, his Ukrainian girlfriend and the only witness to his murder on Friday night, has flown out to Kiev and says she was kept under house arrest.

3. BECKY WATTS: TWO HELD OVER MURDER
A 28-year-old man and 21-year-old woman arrested on Saturday over the kidnap of missing Bristol teenager Becky Watts, last seen on 19 February, are now being held on suspicion of her murder, police say. Forensic teams are searching three houses, including the Watts home, and other locations in a 1.3-mile radius.
4. ENGLAND PLAYER HELD ON SEX CLAIM
England and Sunderland player Adam Johnson was last night arrested on suspicion of having sexual activity with an underage girl and released on bail. The 27-year-old winger has been suspended by his club, pending the outcome of the police investigation. Johnson had been due to play against Hull tonight.

5. JIHADIST ‘EYE CANDY’ LURES GIRLS TO SYRIA
A woman who was radicalised online told the BBC’s Newsnight programme that IS (Islamic State) features attractive jihadists in its online videos to act as “eye candy” to lure British Muslim girls. The woman, now in her early 20s, said she was approached online when she was 16 or 17 and radicalised via Facebook.

6. DELHI RAPIST: GIRLS SHOULD NOT RESIST
One of the six men convicted in Delhi of the gang rape and murder on a bus of a student in 2012 has said the victim should not have resisted. Mukesh Singh, who is appealing a death sentence, also told an interviewer that men had a right to “teach” women who leave their homes after 9pm a “lesson”.

7. UK PLANE SPOTTERS ARRESTED IN UAE
Three British aviation enthusiasts have been arrested on suspicion of committing a “security offence” after they were seen taking notes near an airport in the United Arab Emirates. Conrad Clitheroe, 53, Gary Cooper, 45, and their former work colleague, expat Neil Munro, have been detained since 21 February.
8. CLINTON PORTRAIT’S MONICA REFERENCE
The US artist who painted the official portrait of Bill Clinton which hangs in Washington DC’s National Portrait Gallery has revealed he painted in a reference to Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern Clinton slept with. Nelson Shanks says he included the shadow of a blue dress on a mannequin.
9. COFFEE DRINKERS: CLEANER ARTERIES
Korean researchers say frequent coffee drinkers avoid clogged arteries, reopening the debate on whether coffee is good for the heart. Studying 25,000 men and women in their workplaces, they found those who drank three to five cups of coffee a day were less likely to show early signs of heart disease when scanned.
10. BRIEFING: THE QUEEN'S NEW PORTRAIT
A new image of the Queen will appear on British coins later in the year after being unveiled in London yesterday. It is only the fifth portrait of the monarch to appear on coins since her accession to the throne in 1952, according to the Royal Mint.
