1. France seeks joint UN action against IS
French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve has said Europe must "wake up" to the threat posed by terrorism after it emerged the Belgian man suspected of planning last week's Paris attacks entered the country undetected. France is to push for a UN security council resolution which will effectively declare war on Islamic State (IS).

2. Paris attacks: third body found in flat
A third body has been found in the Paris flat stormed by police after Friday's terror attacks in the French capital. The other two dead have now been confirmed as Hasna Aitboulahcen, 26, who blew herself up with a suicide vest. She is said to be the cousin of alleged mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who also died in the raid.

3. Man in court over murder of Kayleigh Hayward
A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the rape and murder 15-year-old Kayleigh Hayward, who disappeared on Friday. Stephen Beadman, 28, lives near Hayward's home town, Measham in Leicestershire. Luke Harlow, 27, has been charged with grooming and two counts of sexual activity with a child. Both men were remanded in custody.
4. Policing cuts will 'severely impact terror response'
The shadow home secretary, Andy Burnham, says he has "serious concerns" that cuts to policing will hamper Britain's response to any Paris-style terrorist attack. Burnham was passed a copy of a restricted letter from a provincial police force to Theresa May which says the cuts will "severely impact on our surge capacity".
5. Jos Buttler scores record-breaking hundred in Dubai
England cricketer Jos Buttler scored a 46-ball century, the fastest-ever by a Englishman, against Pakistan in Dubai. He hit a record eight sixes on his way to 116, mostly scored in the last ten overs of the innings. Opener Jason Roy also scored a hundred as England posted a score of 355-5, the highest ever posted in Dubai and England's best ever total away from home.
6. Special forces storm Mali hotel after 170 taken hostage
A siege at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Mali's capital Bamako has been ended after special forces entered the building. Islamist gunmen took 170 staff and guests hostage, including Russian, American, Chinese and French citizens. The attackers reportedly entered the hotel firing guns and shouting "God is great" in Arabic. There are reports of dozens of deaths.

7. Skull of 'real Pooh Bear' on display in London
The skull of a black bear called Winnie who inspired children's writer AA Milne to create Winnie-the-Pooh is to go on display at the Royal College of Surgeons' Hunterian Museum in London. Winnie was beloved of Christopher Robin, Milne's real-life son, who was photographed feeding her honey from a spoon in the zoo.
8. Police apology over undercover relationships
The Metropolitan Police has made an "unreserved apology" to seven women who were lured into relationships with officers while they were working undercover. The force has agreed to pay compensation over sexual relationships conducted by five officers from two undercover units. One of the officers fathered children. The two units have now been disbanded.
9. Eddie Jones is new England rugby coach
Australian Eddie Jones has been appointed as the first foreign coach of the England rugby team. The 55-year-old Australian has agreed a four-year deal and will start next month. He has indicated that he will not oppose the RFU's controversial ban on selecting players who do not play for an English club. Jones has led Australia and coached Japan at this year's World Cup.

10. Briefing: why the gold price rose after the latest rates hint
The narrative has been clear for some time: gold, along with other non-yielding commodities, will suffer when the Fed raises interest rates. Or will it? This week the Federal Reserve published the minutes of its rate-setting committee meeting in October, which were broadly seen as emphasising that a rates rise is likely to take place in December. The gold price, surprisingly, rose.
