The British tabloids might give the impression that 'Britain's sweetheart' Cheryl Cole has conquered the world - but it isn't true. While she was voted the world's sexiest woman by readers of FHM magazine recently, it turns out it didn't really count. They were just British readers of the lads' mag.
Now an international poll of readers of the magazine's 24 international editions has voted for the sexiest woman on the planet - and their choice is not the pint-sized singer from a Newcastle council estate, but the leggy Californian supermodel Marisa Miller, famous for posing in lingerie and bikinis in campaigns for Victoria's Secret and Harley-Davidson and for the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
At 31, Miller is five years older than Cole. And at 5ft 8in, she's five inches taller. Like the Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge, whose very public break-up from Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole has been dissected by the tabloids and glamour mags, Miller's already been through one marriage. She is now with her second husband, the music producer Griffin Guess.

Miller is unlikely to let the vote go to her head. She said recently of her career: "It's modelling - I didn't find the cure for cancer."
