Fourteen nurses who work on a neonatal ward in a Kansas City hospital are pregnant at the same time, reported Fox News. “I thought I was the only one that was trying to get pregnant,” said Caitlin Hall, a registered nurse who was the first of the group to give birth. “Then, it was about every two weeks, someone else would announce, ‘I’m pregnant.’” There's a mix of boys and girls on the way, with the due dates for the nurses are spread out all through December.
‘Great Escape’ watch goes for £155,000
A watch thought to have played a key role in the real “Great Escape” from a German prisoner camp during the Second World War has been sold for £155,000, reported The Times. The Rolex was worn by Gerald Imeson on the night of March 24, 1944, when a group of Allied soldiers undertook the daring escape that inspired the 1963 movie starring Steve McQueen. It was was sold at Christie’s in New York to an anonymous buyer.
World’s heaviest python discovered
Biologists in Florida have discovered the heaviest Burmese python ever captured in the sunshine state. The hefty reptile weighed in at 215 pounds (98 kg), was nearly 18ft long (5 metres) and carried 122 eggs, said the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. When the researchers weighed the snake, they were shocked. “I thought the scale was broken,” said one. National Geographic said pythons are known for rapid reproduction and depletion of surrounding native wildlife.
