Joey Chestnut defends hot dog crown

Competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut has won the annual Nathan’s Famous hot dog eating contest at Coney Island, Brooklyn. He set a new world record, devouring 74 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes, to secure the title for the 11th time. The women’s contest was won by Miki Sudo, who consumed 37 hot dogs.
Bear takes a swim, drinks cocktail
A California man has reported an unusual bear sighting on a particularly hot day in the state. Mark Hough said he was about to enjoy a Friday afternoon margarita when the bear wandered into his back garden. It reportedly climbed into Hough’s pool for a swim, before drinking the cocktail and having a nap in a tree.

Naked driver causes multi-vehicle accident
A naked man driving a Canada Post truck has caused traffic chaos after he crashed his vehicle into at least eight parked cars. The driver then ran into a nearby shop, where he was apprehended by police and taken to hospital for assessment.
