Scientists are hopeful that new research will help protect koalas from one of their biggest killers – chlamydia. After sequencing the marsupial’s genome for the first time, researchers say they are now close to developing a vaccine for the sexually transmitted disease, which can cause infertility, blindness and death.
Woman crashes bulldozer after 5-mile joyride
A topless woman in the US state of Montana has been arrested after reportedly hijacking a bulldozer and crashing into a block of flats. The 34-year-old stole the vehicle from a nearby building site before going on five-mile joyride, according to police in Great Falls.

Coastguard warns against ‘deadly’ inflatables
Beachgoers in Hampshire have been warned not to use “deadly” inflatables after more than a dozen people - some on inflatable unicorns and flamingos - had to be rescued after they were swept out to sea along the Solent coast on Monday. “We can't stress enough - inflatables are not suitable for use in the sea,” said the local coastguard.
