Popular childrens’ cartoon Peppa Pig has been removed from one of China’s most popular social media platforms, after Beijing determined that the character was being “used subversively”. The cartoon had recently begun being used in memes that “could potentially hamper positive societal morale”, officials said.
‘Bikini climber’ freezes to death
A Taiwanese woman known for climbing mountains wearing only a bathing suit has reportedly frozen to death after falling near Mabolasi Mountain in Taiwan's Nantou County. Officials say 36-year-old GiGi Wu fell more than 65 feet from the mountain, and it took rescuers more than 24 hours to reach her, by which time she had died.

Police sniffer dog treated for overdose
A Florida drug-sniffing dog has reportedly been treated for an overdose, after he suffered a reaction from sniffing drugs on a passenger aboard a cruise ship. The golden retriever, named Jake, was given Narcan after he began to have a seizure after detecting drugs on a passenger on a Norwegian Epic cruise ship.
