Four days before that showdown, on Wedneasday 13 January, Anfield will again be packed for the visit of Arsenal. That game will be shown on BT Sport at 8pm.

The final weekend of January also sees Arsenal play Chelsea. The fixture may have looked like a top-of-the-table clash when it was announced, but Chelsea's grim start to the season means that the Gunners are likely to be the team with the most to lose in the London derby that could pit Arsene Wenger against Jose Mourinho, provided he has not lost his job by then.

The match kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 24 January and will be shown on Sky Sports.

Televised games in the second half of the season are chosen on a month-by-month basis, and announced at least five weeks beforehand. The games that will be shown over Christmas have already been selected.
