Sterling to sign new City deal?
Raheem Sterling is expected to extend his stay at Manchester City and sign a new contract with the Premier League champions.
After scoring twice for England against Spain last month, the 23-year-old forward was linked with a move to Real Madrid. However, Manchester Evening News writer Stuart Brennan does not believe the former Liverpool man will leave the Etihad.

Brennan said: “You can never be certain in football, but I don’t see Sterling going anywhere. It sounds like it’s a tough [contract] negotiation - his agent knows all the tricks - but he can fulfil all his dreams at City, and the deal City will offer him is unlikely to be matched elsewhere.”
In an update this afternoon, Sky Sports reports that Sterling has verbally agreed a new five-year deal at City.
Euro clubs target City youngsters
Two of Manchester City’s brightest talents are being linked with moves abroad. The Daily Telegraph reports that Real Madrid are “increasingly confident” of signing Brahim Diaz on a free transfer next summer while the Daily Mail says that Borussia Dortmund have joined Juventus in the race to sign Phil Foden.
Spurs confident Eriksen will sign
Tottenham are “hopeful” that Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen will follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane and Dele Alli by signing a new long-term contract at the north London club. The 26-year-old’s current deal expires in 2020 and he has been linked with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid. (London Evening Standard)
Juve interested in Mata
Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has today been linked with a move to Arsenal, but it also appears that Italian champions Juventus are interested. Juve are expected to make a move for the 30-year-old Spaniard in January. (London Evening Standard)
Origi a target for Wolves again?
Liverpool striker Divock Origi is again being linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who tried to sign the Belgian during the summer. Everton and Besiktas are also reportedly interested in the 23-year-old. (Birmingham Mail)
Lascelles signs new Toon deal
Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles has today signed a new six-year contract. The 24-year-old was yesterday being linked with a move to Tottenham or Chelsea and despite the new long-term deal the Daily Star says that Toon fans still expect him to be sold.
Reds and PSG eye Doucoure
There could be a battle for the signature of Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. Rated at £35m, the 25-year-old Frenchman is a target for Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. (RMC Sport)
Who has bid €70m for De Jong?
According to reports in Spain an unnamed club has made a “mysterious” €70m (£61.8m) bid for Ajax midfielder Frankie de Jong. Manchester City and Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for the 21-year-old Dutch international. (Mundo Deportivo)
Rice on Chelsea’s radar
Chelsea are plotting a move for West Ham United star Declan Rice. The 19-year-old is currently in a contract dispute with the Hammers and they fear he could leave on a free transfer. Rice was a member of Chelsea’s academy until the age of 14 and the Blues hope the offer of a £40,000-a-week wage could persuade him to return to Stamford Bridge. (Metro)
