Zambia's president dies in London hospital

The Zambian government announced Wednesday that President Michael Sata has died while undergoing treatment at London's King Edward VII hospital. Sata, 77, had led Zambia since 2011, after many years as an opposition leader. It's not clear who will be sworn in to replace him; the vice president, Guy Scott, is a white former agriculture minister whose 2011 appointment caused some controversy in the predominantly black nation. Sata had been rumored to be seriously ill for months.
