If you walked down Hollywood Boulevard Tuesday and thought you saw Mr. Incredible punching Batgirl while Freddy Krueger and Chewbacca tried to stop it, your eyes weren't deceiving you.
The brawl between costumed characters was caught on tape, and now Councilman Mitch O'Farrell wants to address the issue of superhero-on-superhero violence, his spokesman told LA Weekly. It won't be easy, as a federal judge ruled in 2010 that the LAPD's strict restrictions on street entertainers violated their free speech rights.
Authorities are now investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made; NBC Los Angeles reports that by the time police arrived on the scene, none of the characters or witnesses were still around. A man who plays Spiderman told the station that the sidewalk is extremely competitive, with all of the performers fighting for tips from the same tourists. "No one has respect for each other out here... it's do or die," he said. "Literally, everyone is feeding themselves." Watch a video of the fight below, but warning: there's some strong language. --Catherine Garcia
