When comedians impersonate celebrities, sometimes "you get pretty close to the line," Seth Meyers said on Monday night's Late Night. With that introduction, he let former Saturday Night Live cast member Ana Gasteyer deliver an on-air public apology to the object of her most famous impression, Martha Stewart — Meyers' guest on Monday's show. "Dear Martha," Gasteyer started out, soft piano music in the background, "first of all I apologize for not writing this letter in calligraphy." The quasi-apology gets passive-aggressively less apologetic from there.
"If I know her, she's going to accept that apology," Meyers assured Gasteyer. --Peter Weber
