Cameroon says it killed 143 Boko Haram militants

Cameroon's government announced Tuesday that it has killed 143 Boko Haram militants near its border with Nigeria.
Boko Haram, an Islamic terrorist group, has been active in Nigeria for five years. The Cameroonian government's statement said that its military fought the extremists for five hours, leaving at least one dead and four soldiers wounded, along with 143 militants killed.
Last week, Boko Haram killed as many as 2,000 people in Baga, Nigeria. The group is also responsible for kidnapping hundreds of schoolgirls last year, 219 of whom are still missing.
