According to a new NBC News/Marist poll, 54 percent of Americans want Congress to authorize President Obama's proposed military action against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Forty percent of those polled, The Hill reports, "support a 'limited number' of troops on the ground," and 26 percent "want the military to deploy a 'large number of U.S. ground forces.'"
Obama requested Tuesday that Congress give him the authority to use military force to fight ISIS for three years. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have been critical of the war request, for different reasons: While Republicans fear the plan is too restrictive in outlining the use of force, Democrats worry its language is vague enough to give Obama too much power.
