Jerome Kersey, who played on some of the best Portland Trail Blazers teams during his 11 seasons with the team, died suddenly and unexpectedly in Portland on Wednesday, The Oregonian reports. He was 52. There is no reported cause of death.

The Blazers drafted Kersey in 1984 as the No. 46 overall pick, from Virginia's Longwood College. He went on to start on the 1990 and '92 Blazers when they made it to the NBA Finals, alongside Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter, and he is still the team's No. 5 all-time scorer and No. 3 rebounder. After the Blazers, the 6-foot-7 Kersey went on to play for a few other teams, including the Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Spurs.
