Eric Garner's family hasn't received the money raised in his name

Eric Garner's family hasn't seen the money raised from crowd-funding projects in his name, and they're apparently considering legal action.

At least 19 crowd-funding projects have claimed to raise money for Garner's family, but they haven't received any of it, DNAinfo reports. Garner's mother, Gwen Carr, and his daughter Erica Garner "don't know where the money is going."

"I feel like people are trying to use my father's name for their own gain," Erica Garner told DNAinfo. "It's unfortunately a sad situation."

DNAinfo reports that Erica Garner is "looking into legal action" against the campaigns. Eric Garner, 43, died on July 17 after police put him in an chokehold.
