Rahm Emanuel will face a runoff election to keep his seat as mayor of Chicago.

He finished first out of five candidates in Tuesday's mayoral election, but did not garner the 50 percent plus one needed to avoid a runoff, USA Today reports. Emanuel, who raised $15 million for the campaign, will go up against Cook County Commissioner Jesus "Chuy" Garcia on April 7. On Twitter, Garcia wrote, "This win proves that a movement of people like you can beat a political machine backed by billion-dollar corporations. On to April 7th."
