Court documents filed Wednesday in Minnesota show that Target Corp. could soon settle a class-action lawsuit filed after the company's 2013 data breach.
A $10 million fund will be established for people affected by the data breach, and victims will be eligible for up to $10,000 in compensation, USA Today reports. The settlement's terms were agreed upon on March 9, but must still be approved by a federal judge. As many as 110 million people were hit by the breach, in which hackers stole encrypted PIN data, customer names, credit and debit card numbers and expiration dates, and the embedded code on the back of the card.
